The beautiful Interior Alaskan forest that Wayne works in.

As you can see, the area in which he works is overgrown and

in need of thinning-out.  This is where Wayne comes in.  He

cuts and removes over-mature birch, which improves the health

of our local forests, meets local firewood needs, and is a wise

use of our Interior Alaskan public resources.  We all win by

properly maintaining our forests and making the suitable wood

products available to fellow citizens. 

Being an Interior Alaskan wood cutter isn't always all about

chainsaws.  There is oftentimes road and clearing work to be

done in our forests so that Wayne and others can access wood

that needs removed.  This photo is of Wayne in his yard, using

a bulldozer that he had just used out in the forest to make a new

road that opens-up access to firewood not only for him at his 

timber sale, but others, such as those holding state permits to 

cut their own firewood. 

This is Wayne Hunter the Wood Cutter, who now has

a rather long beard to help keep him warm out in the

woods.
